Materials and properties:

• Onyx: nylon mixed with a chopped carbon fiber. Strong but light, this material can be printed with voids to keep down mass, or as a solid build to increase strength. Onyx has good chemical compatibility, resistance to heat, and matte black surface finish. Learn more about 3D printing with onyx here.
• Carbon fiber reinforcement: in order to increase the strength of a part, we can add carbon fiber layers for reinforcement to increase the flexural strength of onyx by 600%. Learn more about carbon fiber reinforcement here.
